Frank Hamilton first rose to prominance as champion of the under 12 table tennis championships, but soon turned his talent to guitar, penning debut single 'Two Kids' and winning supporters from across the music world, including Edith Bowman, Huw Stephens and Steve Lamacq. Having been described as 'the Mike Skinner of folk' by Music Week, left his guitar in Chris Evans' Bentley and had the only ever consecutive back-to-back play on BBC Drivetime, Hamilton spent 2012 making a name for himself online by releasing a song every single week for the whole year! Now, he brings an enviable catalogue of self-penned material on a major UK tour, and will be calling at Preston's 53 Degrees in September.
Support comes from 19 year old George Barnett. Until three years ago, all George wanted to be was a drummer. He even won UK Young Drummer of the Year in 2008. But he decided he could probably write some songs too. His first EP, 'Sierra Planes', was released in September 2010. Then, as an afterthought, he decided he could probably shoot and edit his own videos as well: Silent Sound, College Kids, Lone Rose, Cassi, Where The Devil Sleeps and Bewitched are all available on his YouTube channel.
Georges first album, 17 Days, followed in March 2012 and George and his band The Ninth Wave have been creating a stir on the gig circuit with their phenomenal live show ever since. Georges music has accrued over 8 million hits on YouTube and his cover of Daft Punks 'Get Lucky' earlier this year hadboth Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers tweeting about him! www.georgebarnett.co.uk
